MD/MS Admission in INDIA
The MD or MS programmes must be pursued by MBBS graduates who desire to advance in their professional careers and become specialists. In order to be accepted into MD or MS programmes in INDIA, applicants must pass the NEET-PG entrance exam, which is held by NBE each January. To be eligible to apply for NEET-PG, candidates must be permanently or provisionally registered with MCI and hold an MBBS degree from an MCI-recognized medical college or institution, along with the 1-year mandatory internship. After passing the NEET-PG entrance exam, applicants must go through NEET-PG counselling at the Central and State levels.
NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2023
Medical graduates who wish to pursue their postgraduate courses are required to fulfil NEET PG 2023 eligibility criteria. National Board of Education (NBE) will release its information brochure in the first week of November and all the details like eligibility criteria, important dates, guidelines, marking scheme, exam pattern etc.will be explained in it. The eligibility criteria for NEET PG includes all important criterias that candidates should fulfil, like ade, qualification, nationality, domicile, etc.
Candidates in possession of MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognized as per the provisions of the NMC Act, 2019 and the repealed Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and possessing permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the NMC/ the erstwhile Medical Council of India or State Medical Council and have completed one year of internship or are likely to complete the internship on or before 30th June 2023, may apply for NEET-PG 2023 through online application system at website https://nbe.edu.in
Candidates found to be ineligible at any stage of NEET-PG 2023 will not be permitted to appear in the examination and/or counseling. In an unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and/or being successful in the NEET-PG 2023, the results/ candidature of such candidate shall be cancelled and/or are deemed to be cancelled.
Requests for appearing in NEET-PG 2023 from candidates completing internship after 30th June 2023 or having qualifications that are not recognized as per the NMC Act, 2019 and the repealed IMC Act, 1956 shall be summarily rejected. Candidates are further advised not to canvass for the same.
The dates indicated by candidates with regard to 12 months Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship in the application form (i.e. internship starting and completion date) shall be treated as final and candidates will be required to submit the original Compulsory Rotating Resident Internship completion certificate at the time of counseling/admission in allotted Medical College/ Institute.
. The cut off dates for the recognition of the Medical Colleges, from where the candidates have passed their MBBS Degree Course and completed compulsory rotatory Internship for the year 2023 will be as prescribed by the NMC/ the erstwhile Medical Council of India. The Colleges recognized after the cut- off date prescribed by the NMC will not be considered.
Registration with the NMC/ the erstwhile Medical Council of India or State Medical Council is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished by the candidates on the day of examination and at the time of counseling/admission.
Some of the Universities/Institutions are having regulations that candidates who are already pursuing the PG Course in their University or in another University are not eligible for admission till they complete the course. The candidates who are already pursuing PG Courses either through All India Quota or State Quota and are applying for a seat under All India Quota/State quota seats may confirm the eligibility conditions of that University in this regard. NBE/MoHFW/Designated Counseling Authority shall not be responsible if such candidates are refused for admission. Such candidates may opt for the subject and the college at their own risk and cost.
The definition of NRI for admission to Deemed University shall be as per Hon’ble Supreme Court order dated 22/08/2017 in WP 689/2017.
Eligibility of candidates issued admit card for the examination shall be purely provisional. Appearing in NEET-PG 2023 does not confer any automatic rights upon the candidate for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma courses.
NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2023 - Foreign Nationals
It is not mandatory for foreign nationals to have temporary registration with National Medical Commission (NMC) at the time of writing NEET-PG. Foreign Nationals can write NEET-PG without registration with NMC. The NMC may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate course limited to the medical college/institution to which he/she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postgraduate studies. Provided further that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered with appropriate registering authority in his own country where from he has obtained his Basic Medical qualification, and is duly recognized by the corresponding Medical Council or concerned authority.

. NEET-PG 2023 shall be conducted in a single day & single session as a computer based examination on 5th March 2023.
Syllabus: The syllabus for the exam shall comprise of subject/ knowledge area as per Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by the erstwhile Medical Council of India with prior approval of the Govt of India.
The examination shall be a multiple-choice question delivered using computers network (CBT) as per scheme prescribed. The exam comprises of 200 Multiple Choices, single correct response questions in English language only. Time allotted is 3 hrs 30 min.
There shall be 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. No marks will be deducted for Un attempted questions.
. During the examination candidates are given an option to mark any question, whether attempted or not, for review which means that candidate has been given an option to go through these questions again before the examination time ends. Candidates may note that such questions which are marked for review shall be evaluated as per the marking scheme mentioned above.
NEET PG Admit Card
The Admit card for NEET PG 2023 will be available online on the official website for eligible candidates prior to examination. Admit card can be downloaded from the official website by entering required details. Admit card will contain the details like name, roll number, exam date & timing and exam centre.
Candidates have to bring admit card along with one photo ID card like PAN card, Aadhar Card, Driving Licence etc. to appear in the examination. Without admit card, candidate cannot enter in the examination hall.
NEET PG Result 2023
The Result of NEET PG exam 2023 will be declared by the competent authority probably in the month of March-April 2023. Candidate can obtain the result by accessing the official portal using their roll number/registration number etc.
Thereafter, the merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained and Rank Card will be issued accordingly. The Rank Card is an important document which has candidate’s score and All India Rank.
NEET PG 2023 Counselling
On the basis of NEET PG 2023 result, the eligible candidates can participate in the counselling process. Directorate General of Health Science (DGHS) and Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will facilitate the process for 50% All India Quota seats. For the remaining 50% seats, counselling will be done by State authorities. Final admission will be based on NEET PG score, choice-filled and number of seats available.
The candidates must keep ready all the relevant documents, as the competent authority will verify all the original documents during the counselling process. If anyone failed to produce relevant documents, then his/her candidature shall be liable to be cancelled. Admission will be allotted to the students purely on the basis of merit.
